The Women's Missionary Union (WMU) was founded in 1888. It is an auxiliary of the Southern Baptist Convention and seeks to equip adults, youth, children and preschoolers with missions education to become radically involved in the mission of God. WMU is a non-profit organization headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.
We have three missions offerings a year:
the "Annie Armstrong" offering -- An Easter offering benefiting missions in the United States
the "Edna McMillan" offering -- A September Offering benefiting missions in Oklahoma
the "Lottie Moon" offering -- A December offering benefiting foreign missions
WMU at Mustang Heights Baptist Church (MHBC) is involved in growing and supporting MHBC as well as the Baptist Mission Center, The Samaritan's Purse "Operation Christmas Child", Grace Rescue Mission, Baptist Children's Home, Missionaries' Wives, Carey Heights Baptist Church, MHBC Youth Camp, and the Falls Creek Church Camp.
Local projects are funded with bake sales, auctions, dinners, crafts, as well as donations.
